Thanks Alan for this video it is great so far, well except for my play. I definitely agree with your analysis so far. The one hand I think you were on the edge with the JJ squeeze, what made me lean towards this play was the weakish shortstack inbetween, without the shortstack I call but with him inbetween I thought a squeeze was profitable.

Really interesting, even for me as a PLO player. Small thing: I do not like the idea of calling myself a dumbass just because of a poker mistake. (While I sometimes still do it nonetheless :) ) But I try to keep my self-talk more positive and would call this a "hands-to-learn-from-list" or whatever. I'll definitely be on the lookout for the next episode.

would love to see you go over smaller pots/common situations for players that are weak tight rather than spewy.

cool video, at 27:42, you hover over the 3bet stat and it shows the squeeze (from position stats), how do i make that pop-up the same as yours? I looked in HM, Player Preferences and tried the different 'pop-ups' (including Default_preflop & Default_VsPre), but i cant find a way to make it the same as yours? thank you sir

Williams, good comment. I will try to more of that as I go through Joe's DB, but I also think that might make a good series just in itself. I'll think about how to do that.

bannar, go to my blog AJackson. I have downloads for all my custom popups. You can also go to the the HM site, search the FAQS and they will give you instructions. I also think I showed how to do them in the 5th video of my Using Stats series.

Godsend of a video. Well done. I needed this. I've been watchin so many vids of utilising HEM to its full potential and found it hard to digest. Definitely wat I needed on how to review post sessions.

Checking HM is about the only way to really know for sure. I tend not to look at HM when I'm losing until I've won 2 or so stacks, which has led to some sessions being down 7 or 8 buyins w/out knowing. For me, I usually go w/ how I'm feeling. I know it's time to quit when I start feeling like everyone is ganging up on me and/or I start defending vs 3B's too light.

Nice video. I was wondering how to get those specific pop-up stats when you click on a number. When I click on a number I get the pop up for all of the stats, but not stats specific to the number i'm clicking on. Thanks

Just got started on this series and very much looking forward to the continuation - it's great to get some vids on how to utilize hm as these programs are so huge it's easy to get overwhelmed and not be very efficient with them. Oh - just in case you do get a puppy though, the 'rubbing his nose in it' is a very cruel and ineffective way of teaching him where to "do his buisiness" :)

Great vid Alan, I always wondered how to properly review my stats/hands. COoOoOl, try using Stop Loss AHK script, there's a version working with HEM DB. It will throw a popup when you reach your stop loss limit, so you don't have to look at your results during play.

Alan, Loved this video. This is the kind of thing that you get on BF, vs. the free crap out there. When you described what you feel when you aren'te playing great, and should end a session - you hit it right on! I know that feeling, the gang up, the hand reading, the bullying et al. And it's true, you start gambling a lot more at that point which hugely increases your variance. One suggestion, in these type of videos, please describe a bit more what buttons you are hitting to go from one place to another. For instance, took me a few minutes to figure out how to isolate a session, and to get the filter right. Looking forward to the rest of the Vid's on this. And btw, you don't ramble on as you say...your fleeting poker thoughts are golden.
