BTW Martin the Q8ss hand where you bet small turn to have a good river shove, i was thinking you should change plans and bet smaller river when you actually hit, cause as you said (MANY times) this will often work especially on the most scary river. i'd just bet half or 3/5 his stack to get more calls

so 38ish minutes in you didn't want to 3b Delu 2 orbits in a row in same exact spot cuz you were anticipating him to start playing back... seems like a perfect spot to be 3b/5bing K9o is a good hand for it. given how i assume aggro regs will play back to frequent 3bs, think its a fist pump 3b/5b. you disagree :/. you don't expect to get 4b bluffed by any hands that have blockers to your value range ? i would not have 3b K3s if i wasn't going to 5b it the next orbit either...

@WeLostAlpha... Even though I did expect him to start playing back, I felt like I didn't have enough info to snap go for the 3b/5b. That timing thing was much more of a general feeling as I had never played against that guy before. If I had a reliable big 4b stat to go with the feeling, yes I would probably go for that move. But all in all I think the 3b/5b isn't that good of a risk/reward play, and I actually disagree that K9o is that good of a hand to do it. I'd much rather wait for suited cards, and possibly something without a K because so much of his range is going to be AK. And I'm not quite sure to understand the 4b bluff with blocker to our value range thing...? As for the K3s, once again I did have some sort of feel that my opponent would play back more often than usual here, but without any stats or actual solid read to support my flow feeling I think that the 5b isn't great there either.

The Q8s hand happens at around 14:00. Since you mention that the fish is likely to fold anything to a big river bet, it's weird that you shove when you hit since, well,l by your logic you will make him fold very often. Is it a small mistake or are you still fine with the play?

@deezie... Yeah well I could go for something like a 1/2 pot bet and hope to get called by Jx, but the A on the river changes the dynamic a lot, especially against the fish... I think I'm better off going with the big bet, hoping he rivered some random A (AQ, AK sooometimes, A2, A6,). The problem with that card is that I actually think he's folding a J anyways to a 1/2 pot bet, so I don't see that many hands that would call a smaller bet and fold to a big one. I could go ridiculously small (like 1/4 pot) and get called by a lot more holdings... that could be an interesting option, probably close to the shove in terms of EV and maybe even better. So yeah I think very small or very big is optimal, everything in between doesn't accomplish much.

Great vid - thank you very much Smile

    feedback:

Min. 14 -> Q8s: Interesting line/plan vs. a cally fish with this SPR on the turn. Would there be any rivercard which you would decide not to bluffjam if you would have missed? Maybe we would give up on a 3,5 b/c in the fishe` s callingrange on the flop are lots of weakpair+GS-combos, which will be on these rivercards either a 2pair or a str8…

Min. 30 – AQs: What would be your preferred turnplay vs. a 2ndBarell here? Can find for both, C/C and C/R some arguments, but don`t know what is better. My guess would be that with the NutFD C/C is better b/c you have good implied vs his bluffrange should an ace fall on the river + of course solid implieds… But what you think?

Min. 36,57 – 66: Is this call of the 3bet with 66 standard? Are are you only calling here b/c Villain seems to be such a nit and you are with him slightly deeper with having eff. 123BB (so calling for setvalue)?

Early in the vid, 3:22 min u recive table 1, J8s @ the button, opened and got called. At the flop u got middle pair (Q82 rainbow), the guy checks, and u check behind. Could u apply a c bet like half pot over? I mean the board was dry and you were playing in position, would not be nice c bet as a option to check-check?

Hmmm I think this is a pretty standard situation where I gain pretty much nothing out of a c-bet...

I'm not really valueing (unless there are some crazy dynamics underlying) and I'm basically building a pot for no reason at all. This is a mistake I see a lot of players do pretty often, building bigger pots than needed for no reason, just for the sake of not giving back initiative and being aggressive.

You usually want a good reason to start firing at a pot, either value-betting or having a good plan to bluff. Neither options are worth anything here, I'd much rather keep the pot small, let him a chance to fire a small bluff and try to catch it and not overrepresent my hand... this just leads me nowhere.

Morale : don't bet at a pot just because you feel like it, always ask yourself why you're doing it.
