I feel like you should have called with the trip kings. Id expect most players with a boat or something crazy there to just shove over you. Furthermore your small bet on the river could have induced something. you were getting like 3 to 1 on your money and I think they would be bluffing enough times there to make the call ok.

Jason - great video. I just started my first shot at 1/2 so the timing for doing some smaller stakes content couldn't be better. I'm really pumped. I have a few questions that I'll post in the video discussion forum. Thanks! (btw - the description for this video isn't correct)

excellent video, jason. you articulate your thoughts very well and take the bluefire subscriber by the hand explaining him the concepts and thought process to be successful at those stakes. More videos from you for those stakes are greatly anticipated!

why is 9,10 off suit is a clear fold dwan calls with it. I call with it i just finished 2nd out of 180 in a tournament guys were trying to 3 bet me with their garbage. The flop is 43% of the value of your hand why not see the flop? I see ivey call all the time too. You guys are supposed to be great players that can read flops well. Why fold and take that out of your game plus that guy who 3 bet you is going to do it over and over again to take away your bets he wont respect your raises.

now you call with 7,10 off suit and fold 9,10 off suit haha. I would fold the 7,10 off suit what you expecting to get with that hand? then you call the river with pocket 7s? On that draw heavy board and he bets 60 something dollars. You 3 bet ace king to high and lose the player on the hand. Why not 3 bet just enough so they have odds to call? You don't like your hand going into the flop? I do like the ace 9 off suit 3 bet thats the only one i liked. Why 3 bet 3s?

    12 Dec 2009 at 11:02am
why not try to flop the set and take his entire stack i don't care for 6 dollars i go for their stack. You can easily check fold if it misses and you lose 6 dollors whoop te do. But if he calls and your 3s miss the flop and 3 over cards comes he bets you fold now 21 dollars to him instead of 6. Everyone watch antonios, even dwan, ivey etc on youtube they RARELY 3 bet they call and see flops. I watched top guns poker after dark very little 3 betting. And these are the best players in the world..

my entire bank roll gone doing 3 betting, calling and seeing flops the flop is 43% of your hand why 3 bet pre flop and ruin seeing it?notice all the 3 betting they keep doing and the best in the world dont do it that often? Even dwan calls ways more then 3 bets. He does once in awhile but not often like this. I don't believe its profitable. Especialy if someone has a big hand. You 3 bet say 3 times at 21 you win 18 off 6 dollar raise . But if they 4 bet 1 time they get 21 if 3 bet folds.

someone at blue fire explain why dwan, ivey, antonios, doyle, don't 3 bet they call and see the flop. They just do it once in awhile explain? Explain how the best in the world if this is such a great play don't do it to often like bf. I had a player 3 bet me like crazy yesterday he would won id say 4 out of 5 hands. But when i caught a big hand he lost all his equity and i stacked him 3 times. One hand i had aces he 3 bets i call. flop bets big i call turn he bets big i call river hes all i cal

another hand i had 8,4 suited. He bets big i call turn i hit my flush. He checks i bet he calls. River i bet big he he calls with top pair. Another hand jack 2 suited i call his 3 bet. I flop a flush. He bets big i call. Turn he shoves i call he shows pocket kings. Those are the 3 hands i won big. All the other hands i would fold flops let him have the small pots i waited for good draws and big hands. You guys would say oh your a fish dwan does it. I seen him call 3 bets with king 2 suited.

the value is the flop not pre flop, Then that changes the entire game around. I like when tight players 3 bet me. They over play cause they have strong starting hands. If i hit 2 pair or better im good. But my hand misses i can just fold. I got 3 bet by tight player. I call with 6,8 suited. 776 flop. 2 hearts. He checks i check. turn is a 6 i check he bets i call. river is another heart i told him he had ace high flush i bet low he check raises all in i call. stack him. i knew his range.

    12 Dec 2009 at 11:22am
he called me a donk for calling a 3 bet with 6,8 suited. but nobody gets the fact the flop is what matters and the fact i know he only plays aces, kings ace king, and pocket pairs. I knew i had to hit 2 pair or better to stack him so i check the flop and wait for my hand to improve. I dont' see why thats bad strategy. If i 3 bet 6,8 suited he would of shoved for sure. I would of never stacked him and lost a lot of money 3 betting.

...can we impose a one comment per video limit or something? Anyways, good video. Not sure what the "live play" means in the title; I assumed commentary would be live (while you're playing) but you paused the video several times, so maybe you meant live to mean "active" or something?

    great commentary on hand ranges...
    24 Dec 2009 at 10:11pm
great commentary on hand ranges and exploitative play at the small stakes! i liked your fold to the river check/raise when you had trips, i don't think players are bluffing with missed clubs often enough in that spot to make a call profitable
