Hey, really enjoyed the video and found it very in depth! Only one comment...about 55 minutes on table 4 we raised with JJ and get called, flop A 10 7 two spades. You say we should never bet the flop here but against good players and good hand readers doesn't this almost flip our hand face up and thus give the opponent potenital to bluff us off the best hand on future streets? Thanks.

rrg, you are not being rude - and you are certainly entitled to your opinion. I think that a number of members like this series, because it shows the thought process of a beginner (chris) as he improves while being taught by a more advanced player. I think that watching chris improve over time and seeing his thought process change should be helpful for many players that are trying to improve and move up themselves. That being said, this video is the last in the protege series for ...

... reasons that I alluded to in my blog. I will probably be looking for a new protege in the mid-term future, but this will be the last such video for a while.

i have a question. I think it was about 4 callers and he had 9,10 suited. The button reraised to 5.50 and i notice this guy takes opportunity to steal. Is it a good idea to re raise him to about 18 or 19 dollars? I would normally like to call to see the flop but im pretty sure he was stealing so i was thinking a re raise. Why did he fold the 9,10 suited?

I don't agreee calling a bluffing player with air on the flop and no strong draws going into the turn or river. Thats what they want is players to over play bad hands. I was heads up against a guy that 3 barrelled and held on with any pair. I lost a lot check calling hoping he would give up he just didn't. when i had a hand his was better. So i quit calling his flop bets until i had something decent and i tightened up he started havig problems with me and he didn't like being check raised.

THe check raise was what was making him fold quite a bit. I check raised him on the flop a lot. he would check the turn if i checked back i got a free river. So all my air hands i just gave up let him have small pots when i had a good hand i check called and he would 3 barrel a ton of his stack. So his 5 small wins to my 1 big one was good equity for me. I ended up winning all 4 buy ins back and won 2 more of his. When we check call they think he has medium to weak hand i can 3 barrel.

Like the sng wizard player. He plays very tight and very aggresive and goes after blinds. The times i would get in pots with him is where he stealig from the button cause he can have a wide range. Thats when i would check raise him oh the flop. he folds. But anywhere else on the table i would just give it up if i missed. Check call this guy pounds you off any middle pair. He only pplays pairs and ace king and sometimes ace queen. But his hands are a wide range on the button.

56 :44 JJ on A high flop. How can you say dont bet this flop? If you check and he bets a blank turn, then what? He could easily have an ace in this spot. Where as if you bet and he calls, then he checks blank turn, you can easy check and bluff catch on the river if a brick falls. Also, your giving him infinite odds at a draw, 89, J8, J9 etc and a FD. Surely this is a super standard C bet spot.
