Niman I admire your time and effort you put forth into this site (more than any other pro) and greatly appreciate you sharing your insight. It's very knowledgeful and shows that you have great talent. Of all the pros I've seen, I respect you the most... too probably because I tend to think most like you when I play. <3 :)

niman , i think that u subestimate us a lot . The 99 hand at the begining of the video :belive me , most of us dont get allin there preflop ,of course its such a obvios big mistake ...but i have a question : u tell that 99 there si to strong to fold , why? i fold there a lot versus an unknown , i dont think that the money u win whit 99 comes from this situation , u get in terrible spots like u did , and again agains someone u dont know,

Nice vid. However I don't like the check back with AK on A64r. Reason being he obv. also knows history between you. (He showed the bluff) I mean it must look very suspicious to him that you check that board. Why on earth (in his mind) would you do that with air when he has showed you that he will bluff big. If I were him I would insta-fold 99 on that turn because of your flop check due to history.

Thanks as always for the feedback guys. Once we get enough input and questions, I'll post my thoughts and answers to the questions in my blog just as I had done previously.

Great video. What sort of hands would you be calling the overbet shove for the 99 hand? Although your absolute hand strength is not very good, I would argue that you are at the top of your range, and it would be difficult for you to have a significantly stronger hand in this situation because you 4b or bet flop with JJ+. Whats he shoving that takes this line, and beats 99, but loses to say AJ?. his range is polarized imo, and if you fold 99, you are folding a great majority of your hands. Thanks

Niman--Thanks again for putting in the time to make this video. U mention in several spots the "easy" way of playing a given hand is not necessarily the best in terms of EV. I would argue it is not that simple. For example you have mid set 99 vs LA and you say just shipping would not be optimal whereas I would get the money in as fast as possible. The potential for making a bigger mistake in that hand is huge ie (la has 89,88,10,9) and drawing dead nearly or he has a pair+draw.

Ok--not much room for comments so I will just end by saying that you assuming you will make the correct play later in the hand is assuming a lot and needs to be factored in. KK hand--u harp on the call but you only need to be good 1/3 of the time and I think he is vb worse hand more often out of position after u check than u concede. I can't see thatcall be as big a mistake as you seem to think.

Hi Niman, Thought I would comment on the 99 hand versus Gonzodinho. I had a hand this morning where a rock raised me from the button (I was BB), I 3B with 1010 and he 4B me. I pushed my stack ($50), he called and he showed AKS and I won the race (cont...)

(Cont...) I was unhappy with my play and ran his range through Pokerstove after and my EV was -$17!! I made a note on the players stats not to make that move again, I finished the session $153 up (I am a 50nl player) in 26 mins but was disapointed with myself for making an incorrect move. Your 99 hand was similar (although you were in position) and I wanted to say Good move!

KK hand is a classic autopilot multi table play for me. Look I am nowhere near your league but when I play 4 tables I cannot go through the thought processes you are going through (and you guys play 10+ tables!!). Playing 2 allows you to think long and hard and maybe with only two tables laying the Kings down is an easier thing to do. Playing 4 it is an auto pilot call in my opinion.

I must say I feel in disagreement...

I must say I feel in disagreement with your reasoning over the 99 at minute 10. I'm talking here about the river. Although I agree it's a tough spot, I think you obviously know that the guy is an aggressive regular, and he probably sees your range as "at most a pair under the Jack", due to your flop check and turn call. Therefore, it feels only natural for him to go all in, in an effort to give you every reason to fold. Also, you say you'll be able to snap him now that he's shown you the bluff..

[...] shown you the bluff, but isn't this the exact reason you he's shown you his hand? I'm not sure here how to use info like this, because anybody with a brain would adapt his play after he show some big info like this, no? Anyway, thanks for the vid still, good stuff.
