I think this would have been better without the live play going on at the same time. I'd really like to see some presentation style videos if that's a possibility?

Really like the discussion that went along with the play. It's a lot more entertaining than a slideshow video. I'd definitely like to see another one.

Enjoyed the video. Very helpful. I do agree that it might have been better presented as a Power Point presentation or similar. Would very much like to see more videos on the subject.

Martin, this video was very helpful to me. Especially the discussion at the end about running bad. I really needed to hear something like this at this point in my career. You aren't always the most eloquent guy, but the points you make are fucking golden. Cheers!

Like the vid. always good to hear people open up about things...and its not like it was all that u also played a 5-10 which we like a lot and some interesting hands come up, there's def room to play hands and have philosophical discussion. I guess this video kind of helped me realize why you don't play 10-20, 25-50 a lot, i always figured you were def good enough to be a good reg at those limits but i think its just the fear of losing which has kept u from that. Have u ever hired a mental coach?

I like the idea and you also share some valuable information. But it's quite stressful and nerving to listen how you break up your sentences all the time. The hands you play doesn't relate to the topic of the video. So why not just make a power point presentation, elaborating your arguments and making a 30min video.

Giggy... great video! I've struggled with the same sort of dilemma for the past few years. I've done quite a bit of research and reading on trying to understand just what exactly is going on in my head to keep me from playing. I've come up with all sorts of stuff, and just recently really made an attempt at putting myself back together. You really hit a few of the ideas right on the head. But I think what was better still, was realizing that I'm not the only one in this situation.

I'm going to start a thread about this idea and see if I can put together more information on the subject. Hopefully, you'll find the thread, otherwise, I will attempt to PM you. I'd like all the input I can get! Great work! BTW, I'm going to call the thread: "Playing Your 'E' Game! E = Emotion(al)" I hope that's OK with you - I want to use that name so that people that can relate to this video in the way that I can/have, will draw the parallel and offer their input, too!

OK, "Tha Giggy," I started my thread in the Poker Discussion Forums called, "Playing Your 'E' Game! E = Emotion(al)." I hope this can build on what you got started here in your video and eventually help to provide others with even more relief than I believe either of us has been able to manage individually within ourselves. I certainly would like your feedback and/or input, and would really like to hear more about your particular story if you're interested in what I might have to offer :)

Mr Giggy, You are a fucking legend inside my mind. Awesome combination of waffle and video. I have even dedicated a blog post to it. Please check it out. http://www.leedavy.co.uk/index.php/2011/03/the-tilt-chronicles-f-e-a-r/#content. Funny when you talk about created an environment where fear breeds fear. Think about your comments at the end of the video. You were worrying so much that your video would be observed as "boring". You have a fear that if you veer away from the perceived "norm" of poker videos it will be viewed as boring. Don't do this! Just think that you are the dogs bollocks and so are your videos. Ching.

Hey Giggy. It's simpe, your videos are the best! Looking this video I remembered one quastion that is mybe little out of the content, but anyway. Somwhere in video you talk about how players look at EV line and thik about it. Well I sure am one of them and see lot of poker buddys have tha same problem. I would really like to look at poker strictly matamatical way, but I must canstantly repeat to my self that EV will come even in a long run. I would like to do simple thing, delete EV from HM. So this is my quastion if enybody knows, is it possible to delete EV from HM and how. thanks. GL

Haha very good question, but I have no clue if this is possible. I guess you can easily remove it from your reports, so it's not in your face all the time. I do feel like you're better off learning to deal with it than completely blocking it though. But if you feel like you won't be ever able to deal with that, I like the idea, but I'm far from a HEM specialist.

I've found a good way to cope with EV calculations:

    • when EV < Actual, use actual
    • when EV > Actual, use EV
So, use the biggest number all the time, thats the way not to tilt when you are loosing if running below EV and the way not to think about running above EV when winning.
