I'm a PLO begginer so excuse me if this is a stupid question, but at 22:46 Phil open folds KKAJ no suit from HJ. Is this completly standard ? Seems incredible to me.

In a tough game, I think AKKJr there is a close fold. I'd open from CO. In an average game, it's fine to play, but I doubt it's hugely +EV.

It plays very poorly against a 3bet range, and it you basically play it for set value. That said, I do think it's close, and I don't MIND playing it from any position. I just prefer not to.

    hey phil,

    nice video!

17:00: what do you think about donk/jam TT98 200bb deep against an aggressive opponent (given the assumption that hell bluffraise you some % of the time) with 4 pretty clean outs to the nutfullhouse, the gutshot, very littly backdoor equity and the possibility of having the best hand??????

do you think its possible that villain would r/f bad AAxx hands in this spot to freeze the action? (i know its a nlh concept but as a nlh player i think its the worst play ever...)

At 23:11 , when u hold JJ55 on 897fd T, you say the play is to bet 270-280 into the 397 pot but in the video u end up betting pot. Any comments on what bet size do u actually think it's best?

In the A5JJ hand, you talk about check raising the river because of your blockers. This doesn't make sense to me because of the value of your hand with aces and fives. Is this a standard check/raise or a fairly unique situation where you turn a fairly strong made hand into a bluff to represent the nuts? I believe your only attempting to fold out AK/AT as TT/KK/AA probably isn't in their range that often, is it? I assumed TT/KK/AA are a bet on the turn by most, given that turn has two flush draws.

Why not 4b/f AKKJr pf against a 3b? Is it safe to assume that somebody is only going to 3b/5b you in that position dynamic with AAxx only. Against AAxx you have 23% equity pf so 4b/f is correct, however against the range that flats the 4b you have 63% equity and generating a SPR=1 situation on the flop is the best way to realise that equity. After playing with ppt, I see that if you take the top 10% of hands and cut out AAxx we flop > 50% equity on at least 65% of flops.

I think vs a wide 3bettingrange it's a very good hand to 4bet, mainly because you have the ace. Without an ace it would be much closer because the AA** part of villains 3betting range increases a lot (I think it's 2.5% AA** w/o a blocker and 1.5% w/ a blocker).

All- Again, I think opening AKKJr there is fine, but think about this: Yes, the risk of the major downside (running into AA) is small, but if you open and 4bet, what upside are you hoping for? 1/3 of your stack in with 53% equity?

AdKsKhJc 63.04% 10% ! AA** 36.96% AdKsKhJc 61.50% 5% ! AA** 38.50% They might fold some of the weaker A*** pre, but thats a huge win right? They are going to make mistakes on A** flops folding some good equity sometimes. Liked the vid btw :) Nice to see you are back at the tables.
