disliking the video because as much as I like what is being done in this video, I don't think it should be spread into 2 weeks. This could have easily been put into 1 hour if it was planned. Also, with the lack of cash game videos, breaking this into 2 parts is kind of gross.

I love watching Niman's videos, I have gained so much from watching his previous work, but to be honest I have to agree with trunks on this video. There is no reason that this needs to be 2 parts. The main draw for this site was always quality over quantity, they are achieving the complete opposite with this series.

I am disappointed by the feedback of posters above. This is SOOOOOOOO original, there has never been an author that can bring 2 opponents from live table and have them share their thoughts. 10 stars. Keep it the good work Niman!

Hi guys, thanks as always for the feedback. I'm sorry that some of you did not like this style of video (one very deep and complex hand discussed at length - and spanning two parts). I did expect some mixed reactions, but I did want to make these two videos for a couple of reasons. First of all, it is an original idea for a video - very different from my typical videos. Second, it was an opportunity to make a video that covers the concept of leveling (which many of you have asked for in the past). And third, I had the unique opportunity to have two other outstanding players and thinkers take part in the video and share their thought process as well. For those of you that liked it, I thought this was some of my best work, and I am very pleased about that. For those of you that did not, rest assured that most of my videos will not be similar to this in style.

I think this is one of your best videos for a long time, It obviously would be much more appealing to people who play live. Looking forward to the second part more than xmas presents Please keep making videos from your AC trips Niman, preferably with the re-player but whatever works

This is brilliant! Several players involved talking about one hand and their individual thinking process. That's what it is all about - details, details, details IMHO. I hope we will get to see more of these kind of videos. Players who don't wanna deal with that kind of in depth information will have difficulties to beat todays games in the near future - i promise. You don't have to agree with everything in the video as long you get something out of it for your own game. More of this please & keep up the good work. And by the way..Niman - I still totally disagree with you Xavi (Barca) being an overrated player- He got nominated again for the best player in the world with messi & c. ronaldo. You just don't watch enough Primera Division to understand, the way you understand poker...;-)))

    What does orson fear?
    22 Dec 2011 at 7:52pm
Awesome vid and a great idea. Can't wait for part 2. When orson folds what is he actually afraid of? I believe he could check back the flop with a set and sometimes TP but would he flat and back raise any set or Q9 on such a wet turn when he "cant" have a Q? I'm not sure if he plays 69s..I'm guessing his expectation is for orson to fold to Niman's original stab so the action will be closing..my guess is at best a nut flush draw trying to end the hand after a lot of money got added to the pot. I know you talked about the big loss/small win theory on the river but is that as important as a strong read in a strange fos type of hand? Obviously a bad spot but just wondering what he put him on. Such an in depth hand keep 'em comin!

Hey Niman, I do like the idea of a very interesting hand, and getting all perspectives of the hand. This is extremely informational and valuable. However, I would rather you just skip videos for a week and release both parts in one night, or as one 2 hour video for something like this.

To get any information from the second part, you absolutely need to watch the first part, and anyone that takes this video seriously will be re-watching this when you release part 2. When you go through individual hands in a session its not an issue, because you can generally pick up on a second video a week later and vaguely remember the reads, and it will be fine. For something like this, you absolutely have to remember all the details for part 2.

I don't know why the site restricts itself to backing up videos for months straight, or why it is only allowed hour long videos, but honestly I would prefer not having to see a first video and wait 3 weeks to finish a single tournament/session, one hour at a time. I would prefer if the videos were more streamlined, and say instead of releasing 2-3 different authors videos/day, release one complete series in a day. I think this would be much more practical and informative for viewers that watch videos every few days. Hopefully something like this can be taken into consideration, because I would imagine a lot of people feel the same way.

A textbook example of why in deep stack poker deception is very important and if you are able to unexpectedly show up with the nuts it can net you a huge pot.

Thanks again Niman. Love it as always. I have not watched part 2 yet so this comment is without knowledge of your hand or dan's hand. Not sure if I agree totally with two of your points. Aren't you going to check the flop a lot of your Ace highs and total air balls at least some decent %age of the time?.. not liking your position in a multi-way pot against two tough opponents, number one. Two, why can't Dan have a monster such as set of 2's or 6's. The board is so dry, it will likely take runner-runner or an over-set to beat him. If he bets, he can expect two folds a very high %age of the time. Moreover, he can expect somebody to hit or at least stab at the turn, so he picks up value that way. Also he can often expect his delayed aggression to look like an air v. air battle and hope to get played back at or called down a lot. You said he "he bets his sets because he either gets value from a Q or not". I actually think it would be the correct play for him to check his sets there. I'm probably wrong though. Tell me how please.

great video, very good setup as well since some of us don't necessarily always play online; rush rush rush, it is well thought and slow (in a good sense), always enjoy your videos Niman.
