For a gentler introduction to this type of things, you should maybe go back to the first video I did with Phil Galfond. He reformulates what I say in his terms, which helps to make it understandable even if you're not into math.

I don't understand what's going on in the videos either. It might help if he started the video w/ the conclusions/application of the theory, then show us how he reached them. Maybe list the key points in text during the video instead of showing us a tree then blasting through all the branches.

I am "into math" (university degree in math), have a background on game theory, and a reasonable interest in new math stuff. Furthermore, i play the midstakes NL games (HU and 6max). The idea of having a series exclusivly for poker math is a good one, but even i with my background can't keep up my concentration and there is no talk whatsoever about how to use this for actual play. Formulas like advanced equity calculations would be much more understandable, practicable and helpful for most.

I've got a question about the implications of this model, to make it simple let's only consider the bluffcatcher scenario that shows that Red is gaining value by having better information. It seems to me that since red is "gaining" by playing this game, blue should attempt to avoid it. Since the game ends after one street (meaning it's like the river), then shouldn't blue be deviating from the "optimal" turn strategy (well if the hand ended there at least).

In other words, blue should be folding an exactly breakeven turn call because of the river situation right? and therefore should also take a slight disadvantage by folding as long as the edge given up is smaller than the edge in the river situation modeled? Am I close or totally off base here? lol
