Min 41, the AA hand: I think u can beat KK that he may play this way betting the river big - the rest of his valuerange is kinda small (9 kombos), it seems like with those odds u might have a correct call? Occasionally also he will turn over JTs or KJs cause he knows he's never good? Can he actually have KTs a lot coldcalling pre in those postions?

Hey Dusty great video man. I love all your videos and your Treat Poker like a Business book has really inspired me. All the respect in the world for what you've done man. I just switched over to cash games from years of playing tournaments and I'm really enjoying it. I feel like I'm just starting to learn to play again, and am committed to putting the hard work in necessary to be succesful. I just wanted to quicky ask you about dealing with variance in cash games, and learning to grind through tough stretches. Although I'm very new to cash play, I feel like I'm playing better than ever, utilizing new plays and theories that I've been learning from studying the game(mostly from your videos in fact). I know that the learning never stops and I will continue to study hard daily for years to come to ensure that I am able to succeed. Is it completely normal to go stretches of say 50k or even more, hands and be down like 10-20 buy ins or so? I am only playing with a 50 buy in roll, and I completely agree with your 100 buy in minimum strategy, because I feel like I'm not able to always pull the trigger on bluffs comfortably, even though I know it's the right play. It just feels like when I'm getting action in big pots I have the second best hand most of the time lately, and when I have a really strong hand, nobody seems to have anything(even though the site I'm playing is full of absolute fish who just play their cards and don't read into betting patterns or anything..so it's quite frustrating)..anyways I guess I just really need to learn to grind on and deal with the swings, and try my best not to let is affect my play..I figured with your wealth of experience you could maybe shed some light on the subject, so I can know if it's just normal variance or I need to improve my game more before trying to grind full time..thank a lot!!

Jossel I think the AA hand is certainly close. I think it would definitely be helpful if I had more experience with that particular opponent and better understood what he is capable of showing up there with. I gotta think it is close, but it could be an easy decision (one way or another) with some more experience with that particular opponent. Great question!

Mariano what you are experiencing is normal. I have had countless 50k hand stretches where I didn't beat the games. Out of precaution, I have always made sure to analyze my play and thought process, usually be recording videos of my play for later review during downswings. I would advise you to do the same, no question. But in the simplest terms, what you are experiencing is normal. Good luck and thanks for the kind words!

Not sure Dusty will be around for a bit but the software all of the pros use is Camtasia. :) Really good program and relatively easy to use once you get used to it!

    Great vid:

Min 16 - AKo. Agree for sure with checkback in this river.

btw. I think that he even do not have KQ there a lot cause he would have isosqzed with it the likely fishy SB most of the time...

    Min, 25 - AQo:

Omg, plz tell that minraising here AQo vs. a cbet on a K32r (where you should have esentially no valuerange which is raising this flop, imo - cause you wanna call only the majority of your madehands. otherwise you wpuld overplay them) was a missclick.

This just cannot fit imo with any reasonable gameplan and seems just lolbad, sry.

Besides of this, nice vid so far, as usualSmile

Dusty, I really hate to be so negative but I can not watch your videos because of the low visual quality. Is there any chance you can up the quality of your vids so that I can see your hole cards? If I sound bitter it is because I am. =)

I stand by my play. I flat big hands here and can easily have ak, aa, kk and sometimes a set. Also, just because I rep very little doesn't necessarily mean he will do anything about it. I thi k to assert that my play is terrible here is not accurate. Also, keep in mind that u can induce folds on later streets but unfortunately the board run out was not conducive to running a 3 street bluff.

Right at the end of the video you flat a 3bet small blind vs big blind with 22. Can you please include that hand in the next video and go into some detail when it's ok to flat a hand like that.

the thing is it can be non-terrible and great in the vaccuum, but technically it is umo suboptimal because yoi have sooo many hands you only can call.

What you do here w KJs, KQ, 2ndpairs.... I guess you wanna have them in your callingrange OTF and hence you do not wanna weaken your callingrange OTF by raising sets, TPTK, flatted AA pre...  - your callingrange will be ready to get raped then.

Hence I think it is better to have a call-gameplan OTF and also call the flop w air (backdoorEQ) when you wanna float....

Once again, in the vaccuum your play can be ok - don`t get me wrong here.

But in the non-vaccuum (as part of a gameplan) it is hard to be all right.

And at nl5k where (you play likely may regs very frequently at MSNL up to 1k??), I rather have a technical clean strategy by taking tose lines which are best for my range and not only in a certain current situation.

Madboy some food for thought: You said 2 posts ago that I would be "overplaying my hand" should I happen to be strong in that hand. You seem to argue that raising would kill my action. Yet at the same time, if I raise here as a bluff, then I can not expect him to put me on any sort of value range and you apparently expect them to play back or not fold. These are contradictory statements IMO. Anyway, was just reviewing that hand again and felt it might be helpful to you and anyone else reading this.

    Hey^^

I meant that when you raise here like a weak TP or a 2ndpair, you would overplay it - don`t you think so? And those type of hands makes the biggest portion from your madehandrange and hence technically you should tale the line with your whole range which you wanna take with most of your range - and I gues/hope yu would advocate only calling 2ndpairs or weakt TPs in this spot, which are a big portion from your range....

When you rais there with a set, it would clearly not kill your action (where have I said this?)  -  in the vaccuum the opposite would be more likely the case -  readless on this ppl would give you no credit for raising here a set - hence raising there a set might be in the vacuum best, but when you play those players more frequently than raising here a set will decrease your overall future EV cause oyur callingrange on this flop will be just very weak...
