I really dont like the c/c with JJ in blindbattle(unless you considered the Backdoor Flushdraw or know villain very well) If villain is passive we dont want to give him any free cards and should value bet. If he is aggressive we get ourself into a guessing game, where he can almost always play perfect. In a spot like this where we have to put him onto draws, bluffs or big hands and we are slightly underrepping our hand but to be honest we wont get that much more value with JJ than TT or A8.He can pounce on us and we get into trouble a ton of times. If the turn is a Spade he can rep a FD, if its an Ace the Nutflushdraw just improved. If its a 5,9 or T he´ll play it like a oesd. Without knowing him very well we risk getting valuetowned or bluffed on a really big amount of turns and rivers since everything hits his range. It gets a bit easier since the spades are not that scary to us but overall i´d rather be betting to narrow villains range and keep the initiative. If we have enough history to know villain will bet a very big percentage of missed c-bets, i can see value in check raising. But i think the standard play should be more straight forward in the blindbattle since most people dont give us a lot of credit in these situations and the steal in itself will almost turn a profit on its own.

AnJo, Sorry it took me awhile to get to this. It's been pretty crazy for me lately with black friday. I see your point, and I definitely agree that ch/calling will get you into more tricky situations. The plan was actually to ch/raise, but he threw a wrench into our plan when he ~2x potted the flop. Considering this almost never happens, it isn't really all that much of a concern. I think c/r'ing will get us a fair amount of value from his air hands which most regs will bet when checked to with a very high % of the time. It also protects our checking range in spots like this. If we only check weak made hands and worse (maybe the occasional monster), we will be highly exploitable whenever we do check (or our cbetting range will be way too weak if we just cbet a high % of the time). We do allow him to see free turn cards on occasion, but most regs will be betting a large % of the hands we are ahead of as a bluff. There are certainly some hands that will check back that would've called a bet. C/r'ing isn't a perfect play for sure, but I think there is a lot of merit to doing it some % of the time and I would guess the ev of c/r'ing here is actually pretty close to that of just cbetting. While I think it is closer than you think, I agree that the standard vacuum play should just be to cbet. Thanks for the discussion!
