Good vid as are all in this series. This may have been mentioned in prior comments of prior vids, but damn....25 minutes on the QQ on ATx hand. Samo, your point was made 5 minutes into the discussion. This is vid 10 or so in the series, and if anybody got this far they prolly understand way ahead way behind. You are a great poker mind and your commentary is good stuff. But I have noticed that in hands where you and Martin would play a hand differently, you talk until he says "I agree".

froggy, the QQ hand involved a very important discussion about different forms of balancing and playing within your body of work. The way ahead/way behind part of the analysis was only for the first minute or so. I think that the analysis of balancing and exploiting easily warranted the detail in our discussion. I'm sorry if you did not like that portion of the video - but I think it certainly involved a lot more than the basic wa/wb concept.

nice vid, guyz I've got 1 question. Why haven't u even been considering folding at any point (except for bad turns) with that 89s hand multyway & deep?

BigGogi, you are absolutely right. I was thinking about that afterwards. We probably should have at least considered the possibility of folding. I guess the fact of the matter is that Martin is so aggressive that players will be more willing to go with their hands against him a little lighter. But that being said, I do agree with you that in that particular situation, we should have at least considered folding.

Prolly true, I was on monkey tilt from a bad session and was impatient. Not the best time to be watching the vid.

just keep your hands off the pause button. If you bump into a concept you want to talk about at length,a philosophy video like the recent one on big folds is a better format imo

Is folding 77 really an easy fold for IWinFlips? If he knows it's going to be a 3 way all in doesn't he need less than 33% equity to make it a profitable call? He definitely has it with a set 3 ways.

with regards the QQ hand on an ace high flop - personnally i prefer giggys lead on that flop as before i hve checked back here in postion after an oppenant checks flop and then faced a bet on the turn and river where as if i had bet flop i could have comfortably folded to further action - surely if we check back we are then left guessing if we face further action having shown weakness on the flop? (and guessing is something i would prefer to avoid if possible?? ;) )

iwinflips didnt know the pot would be 3ways tho did he as he was in this case 2nd to act? if he was last to act with 2 allins before him then with 777 would that be an easy call? (approx 32% equity)?? gg

diablo, IwinFlips wasn't sure it was going to be 3 ways but it looked like there was a good chance of it. Also maybe he is ahead here a small percentage of the time with someone overplaying As7x or something. When he is behind he always has enough equity 3 ways. So that's why I'm asking whether it's indeed an easy fold. I think it's much easier to fold a nine high flush in this spot b/c it only has 2 outs when behind and villain has shown insane strength 4 ways.

Yeah, equity-wise, 3 way, it might become a call, didn't even think about that ;). But as diablo stated he's not 100% sure it's gonna be 3-way... and having 777 is easier to fold because you know that nobody else has 777... if you expect people to stack off with like top set and better, and YOU have the top set, then you're left against better.

And one last interesting point too is that if you're up against a flush and like middle set you're very disappointed, because you still need to hit against the flush but the middle set just cuts your outs, therefore dropping your equity. And since you don't expect your opponents to respectively stack off with bottom and middle set, I seriously think it's a fold (not an easy one of course, but a fold).

another great video; regarding the way ahead way behind situation. Obviously value betting there isn't good but neither is turning your hand face up, a solution i propose is we should sometimes check with our monsters to A. protect the intergrity of our checks and B. under represent our hand to go for value on later streets. However in the heat of combat we would just go for value with our monster because like giggy said he bluffs that much on flops he has to go for thin value

to fit his body of work but wouldn't checking have an incredible amount of decption value and his dynamic would infact allow him to get much more value on later streets. the negative to this is where we have two outs and don't gain any "information" which could leave to misplay our hand on future streets but betting there too much can leave us exploitable anyways could i have your thoughts on this line please. Looking forward to your replie
