Giggy, at 38:45 you make a call on table 2 with bottom set on a wet 3 flush board. I think the play is standard until the river but when the 5 comes out I think it's really interesting. Both 79 and diamonds made it on the turn, and 67 made the double gutter on the river. Considering this is 9 max and we're against an unknown, does the 5 (vs a blank) possibly change this from a close call to a fold? Also, would it be possible for villian in this hand to be shoving a bigger set? I initially thought no since the flop is wet, but could a thinking player flat since against an UTG c-bet range he has you crushed and only worries about the flush draws? If so would this still be a call or is villian bluffing often enough to make it a profitable call with the overlay? I'm curious what you think, I thought about this hand quite a bit and am still not sure what I think is best!

Good point about the 5 getting the flop double-gutter there... I'm pretty sure I've missed it on the spot.

Having said that, I truly believe that this is a very close spot as well, and I think that to be able to draw the right conclusion I would need more info about my opponent. Wether it becomes a call or not is all based on how often and how many hands he's turning into a bluff from the turn... hands like 89 or 9T. Or is he valueing JT that way? Or could he even turn AT into a bluff (because yes, against some players, this would def. be the best play).

Those are all the things that will make a call become a fold or a fold become a call. And at the time I felt like this guy was aggressive and competent enough to have a big enough % of bluffs in his range so that I'm having the right odds on my call. But I could've been wrong, and it was, like you said, a damn close spot.

This is definitely the kind of spot where more elaborate reads are coming into play... I've never been good at exactly calculating those decisions, but I feel like I have a really good instinct for them, so I feel like I probably made a call I would make again given the information I had.

You have to rely on your strengths when facing that kind of decision, and learning to calculate combos on the spot is obviously the very nuts and is what differentiates world-class players nowadays.

at 17 min of video you call a 3 bet with jj. Flop comes j 2 4. i know in full ring a early 3 bet against utg raise is either ak aa kk or qq. I think he hasm ore kk or qq here. he bets teh flop. Flop is j 2 4 with 2 spades. I would just raise the flop any ace comes off it slows down his kk or qq. If he has a k he still might call the flop thinking your raising a flush draw or even like say 10s to see where your at that he could maybe take away on turn or river with position. But just calling a flush card comes off its going to slow him down and any a or even possibly k can slow him down if he has qq. I dont understand why you dont raise the flop. If he has a flush darw here he will call your raise anyways. I dont see how slow playing this hand is plus ev for you with the hand range he should be holding. Only ak here is the only hand i guess you can hope he has that he will continue with on the turn with the ace comes off. But besides hes not continuing with anything except maybe a pure bluff or a flush draw. so why not raise the flop there with your set of jacks? hes never goign to think you flopped a set of jacks there when you raise.

99 at 14 min of the video did you just call for educational purposes? Your never beating anything there except pure bluff. I would of snap folded the river there unless hes like maniac. I think you said hes a recreational player do you think they would over value 2 pair there? should i be factoring that in when deciding on a dangerous board like this whether i should call with a set or normally is it just a fold over the long run?
