I always recommend F.lux to everyone I talk to that spends significant amount of time on the computer! Great vid as always!

Very good video, thanks! How do you overcome the felt need to quit if you are up "a lot", with the emotion being fear of loss for the day? It's just a nice feeling to be up the day, even with the "one whole session" knowledge. I think it is my biggest leak. It prevents me from putting volume in when running good and playing much when breakeven or losing. Also, thanks to the F.lux recommendation, i'll give it a try.

Quitting ahead is a huge leak when coupled with not quitting when down, which is a common combo. When you are winning you are likely playing your best poker, when you are down you are likely playing less than your best poker yet many player consistently put in a majority of their volume when down. It all has to do with how you think about poker and winning. I know that over millions of hands I'vd won .xx/hand. I play with the idea that if I play 70K hands each month I will achieve my goals. Daily swings don't matter. All that matters is if I'm playing my B+ game. I go by internal cues to figure out when I should quit. If I start feeling frustrating and looking for a spot to get my stack in half-way decent it's time to quit. If I start to feel like someone has been owning me and I have to get back at them, it's time to quit. Otherwise I play until I hit 3K hands and then I quit for the day. Quitting to lock in a win, I feel, is reflective of a lack of confidence in your game. Maxing out your return is about # of hands played at a B+ level.

Alan, you mention that you have tried all sorts of different devices such as gamepads and mice. Would you mind sharing what kind of setup you have found working best for yourself? I recently got rid of Tableninja since Pokerstars introduced their own (beta) hotkeys for standars actions and preset bet/raise sizes but I feel a carpal tunnel creeping up in my mouse hand and have tried different sorts of input such as Air Mouse / Mobile Mouse for iPhone and Trackballs but it was all dissatisfying so far. Any inspiring thoughts on ergonomics would be appreciated. Thanks!

Trackball mouse without question.  Takes some time to get use to it. I've been using it for 5 years and no repeative motion pain.  If that didn't work I'd try some of the other ergonomic focused products, but dont have any suggestions.

HI Alan, Some nuggets of info in this series, good work. My question is, you mention that some videos of yours are the least watched, but the most valuable. Which ones in particular did you mean please? Thanks, David P.S i'm in for NCC, can't wait! Its a great motivator for me, as i've been struggling to play through an extended downswing,

Hey David,  I was thinking specifcally of my database review series where I talk about all the ranges I expect for each stat and tehn show how to make filters for everything.  I'm giving away the stuff I charge 250/session for free and interest was pretty low.  imo, a lot of players want to be spoon fed info and lose interest when it requires they put in a lot of work.
