You're right, you should definitely consider short stacks to your left when 3-betting. I would say that typically in those situations, when an opponent is short but not extremely short in comparison to the rest of the field like in the video, they aren't going to be on a crazy wide range because they typically understand that they have no FE. However, in this example I talked about how players will often get tilted and just monkey it in with a wide range when they're that outchipped at the table. I'm sure that in game I factored in occasionally having to stack off to the shove, but felt it was worth it to fight for this pot with someone who has 15k behind., but in hindsight, I do think 3betting is close there and possibly bad because of that factor.
