great video, just started playing PLO, and found this very helpful because i have watched alot of the other higher stakes vids and they dont really apply to these games. think it would great if sometime you'd do one at PLO50. Just to see what adjustments would be made with aggression and bluffing

I'm not sure what a-hole gave you 1 star. This was a great video. Very solid Alix. I play a similar style at $100 PLO, but with some added aggression/spots that you correctly said you shouldn't do at this stake. I'm sure you know many in the poker community are obsessed with the non SD winnings line. Is it correct that our non SD line will suffer with this style, but our SD winnings should be high? I'm trying not to sweat the red line too much, but I'm always teetering on the line of looking like I give up too easy, and then turning into someone who finds all the spots to steal. It's weird. Any thoughts on non sd winnings and low stakes plo? Thanks, sorry for the question format. I greatly appreciate your analytical style and insight.

Yes I think it's best not to focus too much on non showdown results, and take the decisions one by one : is this a profitable bluff etc. Take care of your winnings, and the rest will follow !

hey alix....at about 16:55 table 1 you get dealt AcKc4cJh u believe and you fold preflop and state that the fact we have 3 clubs reduces the ability to make a flush by about 25%. could you elaborate on this please? i dont know the preflop odds to making a flush if you hold 2 of 1 suit in your hand....or 2 of 2 suits in your hand....or 3 of 1 suit....i probably should but i assume you are saying that having 3 instead of having 2 cuts whatever that preflop % is down by a factor of 1/4?

@ 48:30 table 2 you say something about "our rule about not betting before the last raise...." but you kind of trail off as you finish your sentence...what were you trying to say...and what is this rule you speak of??

one more thing...i see a ton of complaining from french players about high rake on pokerstars.fr on 2+2 1)is it even possible for an american player to play on pokerstars.fr? 2)is the player pool actually different or is it just another site that is part of the main pokerstars.com? meaning is it like cake network which is all the same players and tables are combined from many smaller sites? or is ".fr" actually a completely different site & player pool from ".com" thanks alix...great vid AND YES PLEASE DO 50PLO OR 100PLO NEXT

Using PQL on propokertools, you can find out that the chance for AcKc4cJh
to make a flush by the river is 5.25 %. If the hand didn't have the third spade,
like if it was AcKc4sJh, this probability would go up to 6.9%. So our chances of
making a flush are reduced by exaclty 24%

The "penultimate bet" rule is that we should be reluctant to put in a bet that allows our

opponent to put in the last raise, as this gives him a form of position. It does not

mean we should never do it, but when it's close, check instead of betting offering him

the ability to put in the last pot siozed raise in.

I don't think Americans can contribute to the French treasury by playing on .fr sites. It is a different player pool.

Interesting video, there were a lot of spots where I would have been inclined to take a more aggressive line. I would prefer to see your next video at 1/2 or 2/4 to see what kind of adjustments you would make rather than another video at similar stakes.

Thanks Alix. Solid video as usual - much appreciated! I would like to see you do a discussion around blind defense and how much one should, given decent play, expect to lose on the SB and BB respectively - assuming mid stakes PLO games who are fairly aggressive.

Hi Alix, Thanks for this nice and interesting video indeed. A couple of questions: I agree not to over do isolation in PLO, but the hand KQ87 double suited, around 10 min table 2 True, players rarely fold versus a 3bet in PLO, but an isolation raise: - Eliminates the blinds… - Builds the pot Don’t you think this hand does well enough versus a player who open 50% of hands, and that there is value to raise pre flop? You pot control a lot in position. For example the hand JJ75 on A74r around 12 minutes table 3 Cbetting can make him fold QQxx and KKxx Even when we are ahead, I am not sure our hand performs so well versus the BB range at showdown. For example villain actual hand has 27% equity against ours. Isn’t it any value to make him fold? If called our hand has about 20% against Axxx and in position we can play (almost) perfectly. In very passive games were nobody check raise bluff, isn’t it a better line in PLO to cbet almost 100%?
