    Hi Alan,

I am a new member and I've just watched your video series Rakeback grinder. It's absolutely awesome.

I am currently a microstakes player at 5nl. My current winrate is 10.61bb/100 over 25,000 hands, even though I am quite pleased with this, I am not very happy when I'm being 3-bet. I am so uncomfortable with being 3-bet that I fold 78% of the time (and you thought Dan folded alot!). This may have something to do with me raising a wide range, especially on the button. In an unopened pot I raise about 70% of hands OTB. Do you think this is too wide a range otb in an unopened pot? What kind of range would you recommend?

I am roughly being 3-bet about 14% of the time when I raise an unopened pot. This is a serious leak that I need to plug!

My problem is that I really don't have a clue what I'm doing. I either tend to call all the way down with Jacks or flop a pair and get owned or flop a pair and fold the river. I never seem to win these pots...

After watching your video I'm going to start working on my 3-bet defence game because if I can plug this, I believe that I can do pretty well.

Kombalyashii, At the stakes you're playing your defense range is probably a bit high but not absurdly high. The number one rule of 3B defense is if they aren't exploiting you, don't worry about it. Anyone 3B'ing less than 5% isn't exploiting you. For those 5% and under I'll set mine with full stacks. Between 5 and 9% I'll start adding in AQs,KQs,AQo,KQo,56s-9Ts,AJs in that order (in position mostly) I don't set mine vs this 3B range. Once the hit 10% that is when you can start adding in more hands. Then you have to figure out how they play post flop. Fire once and then give up? Fold vs a raise?
