Hi Alan/Lee, another good video, great series - thank you. Alan, just have a general question on taking notes and colour coding opponents. Do you consider it to be important/critical to take notes on opponents or is it enough to look at stats to obtain player tendancies. Taking notes can be time consuming and sometimes distracting if not done efficiently. Also, do you recommend colour coding players to help identify player type and for table selecting purposes. I have seen other coaches do this and interested to get your views on the overall value of both. Thanks.

Alan, great video. I'm believe that naturally I'm a nit on the river...thanks for helping me realize how valuable it can be to get that extra thin value or bluff bet in on the river. I think I've been playing more scared recently because I'm running more than 30 buyins below EV over last 100K hands. This is some really helpful stuff. Since you've started being more fearless on the river, what are your river stats starting to look like (bet river, river cbet). I'm sure that with my lowish river cbet I can probably use that to my advantage to blow opponents off better hands in some spots. Also, I think it would be an interesting video to talk more about how to think about bet-sizing in certain spots. You mentioned the one successful player you looked at and how he was doing some interesting bet sizing - that could be a valuable discussion. Thanks

Notes: I almost never take in session notes. I think it's valuable to do so, but in game play it's really hard for me to make usable notes. Instead I mark every interesting hand and during my post session review I make notes. I usually try to filter for similar situations and see if there is a pattern. I'm interested in their thought process/ranges in different spots. I don't make notes on single hands as I don't want to be making decisions in the future because of an one off play. I'll need to see a couple more similar hands.

Play coloring: Absolutely. I mark all casual players, regs and tough regs. I'll only sit a table with a casual player or unmarked player on my right.

River betting: I do suggest being fearless on the river (within reason). Most players get 60% folds vs in pos river bets and a bit below 50 out of position. Obv player tendencies, board texture and hand strength are important factors in teh decision. My policy is if it's close, bet. I know blinding betting the river is usually at least slightly profitable, so if it feel borderline it's probably a good bet. The big exception is when checking to induce is a better play. I'll think about a bet sizing video. Pretty tough subject to articulate ( a lot of factors to consider), but I'll put some thought into it.

Just brilliant. Thanks, Alan and Lee. Alan I've got a question for you. In this series, you never mentioned the use of indicators Agression Factor and Agression Frequency. I really wonder why? Many times in poker videos I've seen how the decision is made including on the basis of these indicators. I'm not saying that this has become a dogma for me, but I'm just curious why, with such a comprehensive and logically sound foundations of ABC-poker that you described, you have not said a single word about the indicators of aggression? Thanks so much!

Good question Levandowski.  I've never been a fan of aggression numbers.  To me indivdual stats give me more information.  For example when I'm facing a flop c/r I look at the flop c/r %.  If I'm facing a turn or river barrel I just look at those frequencies.  I'm not sure what an opponents aggression numbers would add to what I learn from those numbers.  I could be wrong and I'd be interested in hearing a counterpoint, I honestly don't know much about the aggression numbers as I've never used them and I could be missing something.
