Awesome!! I like a lot your other type of videos, but a series like this were really needed to try to put all together the strategies you recommend.

Just 1 question.. How can you open to 3.5x or 2.5x on Party without having to manually typing it? Or are you using a program like KeyPoker?

I use PartyEZCash along with a Belkin 52te game pad. Both which I highly recommend.

saw 2 hands in the first 20min, and they have not even been interesting. Less talking about autism stuff and more poker would be nice. Who needs tips like "record your own session and watch it"? 5/10 Stars in 2006, 0/10 today.

I'm surprised you saw two hands in the first 20 minutes as I spent 15 minutes discussing the HUD.

Replay videos aren't going to have a lot of interesting hands (or what a lot of players classify as interesting) and if that is your primary interest you're likely not going to want to invest your time in watching this series. For interesting hand videos I suggest Dr Giggy's hand review videos, they're fantastic.

One of my core concepts is that it's the so called uninteresting hands which establish your win rate and I intend to focus extensively on those spots.  Maximizing your return in high frequency spots like stealing, 3B'ing and cbetting is critical. The focus of this series is going to be a lot about those types of spots, bet size manipulation and thin value and how I use to HUD stats to make the borderline decisions.

While I'm obviously bias when evaluating my content, I feel strongly that while you view this 2006 level content  that my content is a great guide to winning in today's game.  I think a lot players play the bigger pots relatively well and the way to construct a solid win rate is hyper focus on high frequency spots where HUD stats show an individual players exploitable spots.  My win rate this year and the success of the guys I coach give strong empirical evidence to support my belief.

Your reply might be that you're already maximizing your return and i wouldn't argue with you as I don't know your game.  But in my experience as someone who spends 50+ hours every month coaching mostly pro players that it's really rare to find someone who comes close to maximizing their return in uninteresting hands.

Hey alan i actually enjoyed the part about the hud. Have you ever done a guide to designing your own HUD video? Could be pretty helpful. I tried messing around with HEM2 to customise it but it's not very intuitive, I had no idea how to do it.

I did.  It's a 2 part series  titled Switching to HM2.  There were some complaints I went into too much detail, but I agree with you it's not very intuitive and I wanted to make sure I covered as much as possible.

When it comes to videos I think too much detail is always better than not enough. I'll definitely watch that series.

Alan, dont listen that ugly guy, I am completelly agree with you and I find this video very interesting and profitable as far as we can see how it's a normal grind, every low spot that everyone miss and nobody thinks about it and you focus on it! I rlly loved it! Thanks!!!

great in depth vid, id like to see more of these from you. where does the value come from 3betting AQs and like hands when in the blinds vs btn/co? im obviously missing something because I've been flatting these as a sort of trap/domination, does the villain have to have a relatively larger call3b ip, as well as a relatively smaller 4b? id hate to 3b/ fold AQs preflop. im just curious because when you did it it was like an obv spot without even considering the stats, anyway keep up the good work.

That's a fantastic question and you nailed the spot where it's best to use.  I use to think that never wanted to 3B a hand that would put me in a semi tough spot vs a 4B.  However I found though doing hundreds of database breakdowns that most players make signficantly more money 3B'ing those hands (those hands are what I refer to as extended value: AQ,KQ,AJs,99,TT and possibly JJ) vs cold calling.  I generally do not 3B them vs players who fold a lot vs 3B.  The benefit of using your extended value range is that you put your opponents in a ton of dominated situaitons (obv vs high folders this isn't the case).

Dear Alan, I didn't expect to see so much about HUD and so less about poker. I think it would be best to make a dedicated video for HUD for all of those players who wish to know more in this area. When I click to play the video "200NL replay" I expect to get a lot of poker content and less about HUD. I would expect however to hear you say things like "I pop up this hud stat and I see that he folds x% and therefore I do this"
