Darin played some nickel-dime poker in high school but didn't really get into it. He went to college for 10 years finishing with a PhD in Exercise Physiology from the University of Florida. While at college he was invited to a weekly $20 dealer's choice game while at the University of Florida in the Fall of 2003. This got him back into poker.
He made his first $50 deposit in February of 2004 and started playing $11 SNGs. He bounced around playing some limit and NL hold'em cash games and went back to SNGs since they seemed to suit him better. He eventually started making some side money.
In 2007, he made more playing poker than I did at my regular job. Since he wasn't happy at his job, Darin decided to quit and become a full-time pro in June of 2008. This allowed him to move from Boston to the Philadelphia suburbs to be with his girlfriend whom he married in June of 2010. Darin is currently playing high stakes 6 and 9 man SNGs and finishing up his 3rd year as a supernova elite VIP on PokerStars. He has played over 100K SNGs.
