Hey Guys,

I haven't played since my last post.  I don't plan on playing a ton through the rest of 09.  I've got a lot going on through then, and into most of January as well.

I've been watching the nosebleeds from afar lately.  I miss the action, but I like the stress free (relatively) life I've lead since the last time I've played.  I'm sure I'll be back soon, but I actually would be proud of myself if I didn't play about 50/100 until March.  I doubt I'll be able to hold out that long though.

Congratulations to Brian Hastings, who crushed Isildur for 4 million and some change.  He's an extremely good player, and from my experience, a really good guy.  Whenever someone wins huge, I feel at least a tinge of jealousy.  I think most people are that way.  Maybe I am more than most because it actually very easily could've been me.  Or maybe I'm just a bad person.  But, I can honestly say that while I wish it was me, I am genuinely very happy for Brian.  He deserves it as much as anyone else.

I'm very curious as to whether Isil will be returning or not, and with how much money.  That might shed a bit of light on the mystery of who he could be (though there are theories already)

All for now.  Hope the upcoming holidays are fun for you guys.  Take care.

-Phil

What do you think now with the whole scandal surrounding Brian H, Brian T and Cole South?

A short reply would have been nice, for giving you an advice on some stuff you could check out, even for free ...

I don't think it makes you a bad person as long as you realize that it's not a good outlook to have on these type of scenarios. Being somewhat "jealous" in these situations is what makes us competitve.

I listened to an interview with Brian Hastings on espn radio. He said he felt like he had an edge on anyone in PLO. I kept waiting for him to say except maybe Phil Galfond (or Brian Townsend) (well he said he might not play Phil Ivey 1-2 PLO because of the swings) I was just shocked he actually thought he was the best since he doesnt play super high that often. Obviously he is very very good. Plus I guess it goes to show confidence makes a big difference. :)
