Hello Asad, @15:00 you have QJ on QJ6sss 8 8 where villain checks river, pot is 220 stack is 290, you decide to bet 120, what would you do vs cr-AI? @18:00 you talk about your river decision in the J9s on J74ss 6 A hand, assuming you cc the flop, but he checked back the flop though and you bet the turn and river. how does that change your decision making? -

It seems like your strategy involves overbetting a lot of turns. You explained the benefits of doing this in some individual hands, but I would be interested to hear your reasoning in a more general, abstract sense for working this sizing into your game. What does it accomplish that a "normal" bet sizing doesn't? What kinds of board textures and ranges are best suited to using an overbet? -

Hey sorry for delayed responses, live tournaments are time consuming
@tompoker88 Even though i don't expect to get c/r'd very often at all, once we do bet river we'll have to call a c/r just based on immediate pot odds (esp since he's getting a very good price on a bluff himself). The J9s hand: I still think river is a bet/fold; this goes back to preflop...given his 3x open and my defending range, he should expect me not to have (m)any 53 or 58 combos and can therefore raise (and call a 3bet) with 2p+ more happily--preflop essentially widens his river value raising range, none of which I beat with J9.
@willage This is a pretty complex q but the simplified 'answer' is that position is king and building a pot with initiative against a bluffcatching range benefits the player with impetus, especially he who can hand and board read well. Maybe I'll do a concept vid on this in the future.
@Ziigurd Thanks, I'll likely start mixing in some shorthanded vids after this series.
@lol1234 It's a pretty basic hud actually, abbreviations should be pretty straight forward too...if you have any specific qs about it lmk. Thanks, glad to hear it

Just wondering if you would have raised your river lead with j8s on kq1099hhdd. Given hes been checking alot of hands with showdown value but scared of being x/raised off, he could very easily have alot of full houses in his range due to the run out of the board though alot of his 2pair hands would definetley be betting this board. It still puts your range of air/straight in a worse spot and assuming you would probably use this spot as a time to overbet for value on the river against his straights/2 pair combos that checked back. -

really i can't understand the double overbet on turn/river w/ 79 on 865-5 board. i realize youre trying to level him, but don't you think he's just smart enough to realize that no good player is going to overbet both turn and river with a bluff? from my perspective if u overbet turn and he calls, a near pot sized river bet looks identically strong to a river overbet--aside from 1 issue--when you overbet again on the river u say to him "im not scared of slowplays, or i have fps". agree/disagree?
