7 PostsIs there a video out with optimal numbers to strive for?
Hey guys,
I am a 1/2 NLH 6-max regular (about to make the 2/4 jump) and am curious: is there a video out by either Phil, Giggy or Niman on optimal numbers to run after the session over the course of some hands?
Normally I wouldn't care but sometimes I am curious as to what ballpark numbers would be ok to strive for at this limit.
I am also coaching a friend who plays 25NL which is another reason why I posted. Should his numbers differ from mine in the fact that you can 3b more and get away w/ it at that level?
At 1/2 I am currently running 29/24, 9% 3b, 2% 4b range, WTSD is 27.4 % over a large sample size. Are these numbers optimal?
Thanks a bunch. In 6 years always pretty much ignored my statistics from HEM so I figured it's time to ask that question.

I think you question is too generic for straight forward answer, if your opponent is folding to 3bets alot then you should be 3betting more or often than you normally would or if you've got a good aggresive reg to your right you sould be opening with less hands because he'll used positional advantage to exploit you.
you have to take opponents tendencies, postflop skills, position and gameflow into consideration before deciding when " optimal " numbers to strive.
hope that helped

Yes, as others suggest, you have to adjust to opponents etc, etc., but your question is, over many hands and many opponents, what are sensible ranges of numbers for your level, etc?
I agree that it is hard to answer without a ton more info, but: I'd like to hear what others think of HEM's leakfinder, maybe it is an interesting place for you to start. Just import your hands and take its advice with a grain of salt. Whether or not 29/24 is a good range for you depends a lot on your postflop play, your opponents, etc. The nice thing about leakfinder is that it looks at a ton of stats and then has videos on each. You might be ahead of its curve, but it is a nice sounding board to consider.
You might also look at your numbers for losing vs winning sessions, vs various opponents, etc., if the sample size is large enough. Leakfinder has many filters that add depth to your numbers.
