I was playing at the Venetian Deep Stack event the other day and stacked a very aggressive belligerant and irritating player with the following play, after which he berated me for playing badly and called me a "lucky &$#%* old fart retard fish", which I found quite amusing.
A small stack UTG went all in for 15K - about 20% of my stack. I had about an average stack, was next to act and found QQ. After thinking for a little bit, I flatted and everyone folded to the cutoff, who called, and everyone else folded.
I flatted because I was thinking if I shipped it then, someone else might call with a strong ace, and I wanted to see the flop before committing further. I also wanted to entice others to call and was afraid of scaring them off with an all in.
The flop came something like 962 rainbow. No ace, so I went all in thinking I had the best hand and didn't want to give someone with an ace another chance.
The "gentleman" in the CO tanked for like 5 minutes and started rambling "You can't have AA, KK or QQ or you would have raised. I don't believe you have a set. You can't be drawing with a 78. I think I have you beat." He called, turned over JJ, and I felted him. He then proceeded to be a complete quadruple verbal moron.
Of course I won the pot, but was my thinking correct?

Other's may argue otherwise, but I think you need to be willing to go broke vs an AK or AQ hand there if somebody calls behind. Especially since the UTG shorty is so much more likely to have an A or K himself thus eliminating some of thier outs a reasonable portion of the time. Seems fine as played though.

Thanks for the feedback.
I apologize to all for my profanity and ranting. I guess I was still steaming a little from the verbal abuse the guy dished out. I should have been a little more circumspect and sat on that one for a while before hitting the send button.
Sorry - won't happen again.

Played this hand decent imo. Don't sweat the verbal barrage as that is pretty standard in lolive poker :) NH gg

What was the blind level? It's not extremely important in this case bc you had queens but it does have an influence on whether or not I would have shoved or called. You should always try to take the line that will provide max value. For example, if flatting will cause you to look very strong, then maybe shoving is better. As played, once the flop has come, I wouldn't be quite so fast to shove all my money in. Again, going for max value. If the guy is tanking with JJ, he's probably going to fold all sorts of other hands that you are crushing, which is not good! If moving all in on a safe flop will only get sets + tens thru aces to call, then why shove?
