I've been playing for quite some time now, way to long to be asking this now. I won't elaborate on the question too much because I don't want to get to wordy. When stack are shorter how do I choose my opening (min raise) range, vs my calling range?
If there is all of a sudden a shorty in the mix does that change my opening range, or just my calling range if he reshoves etc. I'm kinda looking for the generic thoery, and I don't even really need to see the math.
thx!

DDBeast goes quite in-depth as far as min-raise folding/calling in different situations! Hope this helps!

thx its a great video and i know the part you are talking about but I'm looking for the underlying thoery to understand how the ranges are constructed vs our oppoents reship ranges. I feel like its Aaron Been territory.

Your opening range should heavily depends on people behind you's defending range (3bet, flat etc).
Your calling range somewhat depends on people's shoving range but also how short you are...the shorter you are the better odds you are getting
Short stacks's get-in range affects your EV a lot espeically you have hands like T6s, K3o etc

Thats about how I understand it already, I'm trying to learn to be even more accurate but I don't know how the math works. Is min rasing pre a seperate 'event' from calling?

How's your image? Are they regs running huds, or randoms who view a min raise as strong/weak? How many blinds do you have, and what's the structure and stage of the tourney? What kinda odds will you be getting against particular stacks that are a threat to move all in? Will revealing a bad hand to the table make it harder to steal successfully in future orbits? How well does your hand play against their jam ranges? If it plays terribly, then that means they are tight and have mostly monsters, so raise more. I'm not really asking questions, just listing things to consider when opening. Hope this at least adds some more In depth thinking while deciding if you should steal or not.
