    8 Feb 2011 at 9:09pm

$0.25/$0.50 Pot Limit Omaha Hi • 3 Players

Converted by Bluefire Poker - Hand history Converter

    me (BB)98.93
    BTN40.59
    SB42.08

    Pre-Flop (0.75, 3 players)

    Hero is BB

    c5 s7 sA dA

BTN raises to 1.75, SB calls 1.50, me calls 1.25

    Flop (5.25, 3 players)

    s2 sJ cK

SB checks, me checks, BTN bets 3.93, SB raises to 17.04

    Final Pot: 26.22

are we better off leading here then shove if someone raises? i really wanted to get this in at the flop and was planning on a c/r.

You're better off check/raising because the button was the pre-flop raiser and will c-bet a decent % so you'll usually get a chance to check raise.  Although, if the BTN checks behind, you are still on a draw, so I don't think it's too bad for you.

Once SB re-raises.... I think it's interesting as to whether or not you should just flat the re-raise or shove.  I think I'd be inclined to consider just flatting it to try and get BTN to call more often because if your draw hits, you'll have the nuts and can triple up, rather than double up if you shove now (assuming if both call this raise, they'll both call a shove on the turn).

*** Disclaimer - This could be a pretty spewey play/line, but I'll share it. ***

Preflop - With AAxx, I'm kinda of the opinion that if I can get AIPF with it, I always will, but if I can't get the other player pot-committed preflop, then I'll just play it for what it's worth post flop (set-mining or nut-flushing).

By the time it gets to you, I think you can pot it for around $6, which isn't really enough.... sometimes here, I min-raise it with the hope that the button will 4-bet and then give me a chance to get AIPF..... At $50PLO, players will often 4-bet with some good wraps and if they're bad, sometimes with KKxx, which is pretty ideal.

Otherwise, they just flat the min-raise and it's no big deal, probably just looks like you're trying to re-steal from BTNs initial steal IMO.

    Calling is a big mistake.

When you flat, he doesn't give you credit for slowplaying a set, but rather just puts you on a draw.

When you shove, he puts you on a set and think he's flipping with a hand like a k with a straight or flush draw, but in reality he's in much worse shape.

    Turn scenarios when you flat

(9,10, q , a) He checks to you with a set and you bet knowing it hits your range. He also knows and calls. You can't continue on the river because he checks a straight to you too often.

He checks a straight to you and you go broke.

He check raises a hand you crush and you get folded off the best hand.

He checks/folds a hand you crush, and you lose value.

He checks, and you check back. He bets the river and you fold the best hand

(blank) He pots into you since you always have a draw. You know you fold the best hand here often but you just can't call.

(paired board) You almost never have a set here, maybe 2pair plus draw. You fold the best hand here often as well

(flush board) Don't expect much value

(double flush board) extremely awkward with your hand if he goes aggressive
