NL 50 overpair or tptk on drawy flop
    20 Jun 2012 at 4:49am

Hey guys, i'd like to know what is your opinion on the best way to play on this tipe of spots on these stakes vs some unknown players. both hands i did not had a lot of info about the villains, on the AQ hand i had played just 20 hands against the villain and his stats were 8/8 (seems tight, but i saw him 3betting TJs vs utg in a hand, so he is obviously capable of moves), and the KK hand it was the villains first hand. I mean, is it okay to shove on the turn, since there are possibly some draws on their range, or is it better to just call and reavaluate the river?

btw, sorry, but there was an error converting the hand, i tryed to fix it but i had already posted

These top pair top kicker/overpair in a single raised pot vs a raise spot are always tough and extremely opponent dependant. Vs unknowns who dont appear to be particularly fishy at small stakes I think you are best off folding the flop outright. Your hand has extremely poor equity vs a value range and is a flip vs draws. My base assumption for 50NL and below players is that they are not capable of exploiting your tight post flop folding strategy, so these flipping or crushed spots are best to avoid as early as possible. Once you develop more specific reads vs your opponents, such as if you learn that they have wide bluff/semi bluff ranges, or can be raising these flops with less than 1 pair for value or with little equity at all, then these very strong 1 pair hands become strong enough to want to continue with to showdown.

There are many types of unknowns...

If he's done anything fishy AT ALL you just can't fold these spots. If not, then neil is prob right. Gone are the days when you call flop jam turn to get called by 2nd pair...

In the first hand due to raise sizing I think you can just fold the flop. That is a hand that is going to go with it, and you simply don't have enough equity vs a get-it-in range.
