playing blinds oop w/SC and Axs PLEASE HELP!!!!
    21 Apr 2012 at 12:01am

hi guys if there are any pros that can answer this question that would be much appriciated. I want to know what makes calling a steal profitable in the blinds with a suited connector and maybe how low should i go plus maybe Axs. my coach told me its only good to call with suited connectors in the blinds if they c bet to much but i tend to disagree. Ill state what i think there are boards that the chck back to much on and tehre are boards that they c bet to much on. I think the boards they check back to much i should donk bet a ton and rep bigger hands and the boards that they c bet to much i should CR a lot. But i feel there is a medium like say the guy folds to 3 bets to much like 80% or even 70% i should call with the primiums and CR him a ton along with my broadway type hands while i also thnk those Axs hands should be 3 bet as a bluff and be very unballanced until he figures it out. but say if he calls 3 bets to much i would 3 bet with a thinner value range but than maybe be unballanced in calling with Axs or suited connectors but im not sure if that leaves to much of a gap of margin of error. hpoefully i make my thoughts clear enough. But maybe i should play a 3 bet or fold game vs the guy who calls to much. Can anyone tell me if this will be profitable the way i said i will do it. i feel like i do well but my coach made me stop doing it and i wanted to get oppinions from the rest of you as i only play 4 tables so i can focus on playing the best i can.
1 more thing if im CR a lot i felt that playing any PP might show a profit vs guys who barrel to much or guys who might play back and kinda for ballance so i can show up with more sets so i cant get sets in more likly. thanx

Doesn't sound like your coach knows what he's talking about.  You had it right in the first 3/4's of your post.

The only thing I disagree with is flatting small pairs to try to keep more sets in your range for the times villains want to barrel.  You aren't going to get barreled nearly as much when your opponent is opening from the BTN since his range is going to be wide and will not often flop enough equity to want to barrel.

If he's minraising and you are in the BB that's a different issue though, never fold a pair to a minraise.

3bet more from the SB in general than the BB, most particularly when you have a squeeze happy player in the BB.  If the BB is pasive then calling can be fine though.

When you are in the BB, you cap the action so it's slightly better to have a wider calling range as you are guaranteed to see a flop.

Find the btn's leaks. Depend on each player youll take different lines... i.e. if you know that Btn fold too much to a raise cb... just raise cb more often..

Be sure not playing hit or fold with SC. Consider to win without SD each time you want to play OOP on blinds...
