14 Postsunhappy with the development of this site
Hi BFP,
short info on me: I'm a mid/highstakes NL and PLO player and BFP is about the only site beside Leggo for NL that provides content that is still interesting to me. I was pretty happy when the site started, as there were only cash-game pros and with PG, Dan and Giggy some of the best out there. I was glad to eventually have a site that serves the highstakes society with valuable content.
However, I really don't understand why BFP is expanding into SNG content. First off, I think there are other sites that cover the SNG area pretty well (although I never play them, rarely play MTTs). And besides that, I think most members joined this site because of the elite cashgame pros and not because of the hope to see some 9max 25BB play in the future. I think most here singed up to see 100BB+ poker with deep thinking, and I'd be surprised if more than 10% of these were somehow interested in SNGs.
I don't want to sound too harsh, but I just don't see this being a good development. There are so many ways to expand and I'd gladly appreciate some mixed game pros teaching me triple draw, but SNGs.. really?
Please note that I am in no way criticising your SNG pros, I don't know how good their videos are but I assume they are very decent if they are producers for BFP. I just don't think they have come to the right place to publish them.
Thanks for taking the time to read this, I hope it has some impact at least.

Hi Krypto,
Due to numerous requests from BlueFire members looking for SNG/MTT content at the same level as the cash game videos we delivered, we addressed this void with the relaunch of the site. I think it is necessary to point out that while BFP did add a team of SNG specialists, this in no way lowered the quantity of NLHE and PLO cash videos that are produced by our cash pros (Giggy, Phil, Jason, Niman, Alix, Alan). While previously you would have received 4 videos per week (all cash game vids), you now receive 4 cash game videos per week AND 3 SNG videos. Hope this clarifies some of the confusion.

I don't get this. Because YOU don't want sit n go videos, they shouldn't post them? Even though they are IN ADDITION to the regular videos posted every week? You don't represent the community here OP. And you don't know what kind of requests the site is getting, and you don't know what the others in the community want.

Just wondering how adding (5?) sng pros caters to the demand for sngs PLUS highstakes mtt videos. Wouldn't it have been sufficient to get 1 or 2 sng pros and then just hire 1-2 really good high stakes mtt players? I understand that these are additional videos on top of the regular schedule, and I'm also not criticizing them because I'm sure they do a good job. But I don't think you can come up with any proper justification for hiring 5 sng pro's and not a single MTT pro. And I really hope you don't answer this by mentioning you're hiring 7 MTT coaches

To sng vid lovers, I'm not saying there shouldn't be sng vids... I'm saying resources should've been spent more wisely to have more additional content be available, and not just for sngs!
edit: I thought the motto of BFP was less is more?

Hey Iggy-
The SNG pros do not cater to SNGs AND MTTs, they simply cater to people looking to advance their SNG play, so my apologies for the mixup of words. As you know, there are different formats of SNGs. Ryan, Andy, and Darin focus solely on 9man SNGs, Chip teaches 9man, 27mans, and 45mans, and Brian coaches 180man SNGs as well as MTTs. As you can see, all of Fite's videos are created either on 180mans or bigger MTTs, nothing smaller. So while we have 5 guys, they are all coaching and covering different specialties in SNGs.
In regards to your comment about MTT coaches, we have Fite who will continue to mix in MTT vids/reviews, as well as a few new (not 7 don't worry) high stakes MTT pros that will be announced and will be making videos in the very near future.
Our motto is QUALITY over QUANTITY. We will not have "filler" coaches. We aim to have the best cash content, the best SNG content, and soon the best MTT content.
As always, we love input, feedback, suggestions, etc. so thank you for your comments!

I absolutely agree with OP. Just take a look at how many ppl on avarage watch a SNG video, it will not be more than 250. 2 or 3 more cash pros and cash vids per week would have make much more sense.

I was thinking about posting exactly the same like OP. I got a yearly membership because of the awesome cashgame content in both nl and plo. Of course nobody expected Black Friday. I think it should be possible to make more reviews although i really liked liveplay. Obviously the American coaches can't do that anymore. Possibly the management should think about adding canadian or european coaches which are obviously more involved in the Online Poker scene now although there might not be people with the class of Niman, Don or Phil. I really hope Giggy gets more motivated again to make videos and especially live videos (or is he living in the States)?

@shahrad If you filter SNG vids, while there are less than cash game views, there are plenty of viewers.
@Klemi1 Black Friday was obviously a fork in the road that no one expected. However, neither Giggy, Alix, nor Alan live in the US. Also, in Phil's most recent video he states that he is "figuring out where he is going to live" after the WSOP. If online poker isn't regulated in the US relatively quickly, I assume you can expect to see him outside of the US for some time during the year. Also, we are looking into the possibility of bringing on a few more big name cash players.
