Niman, you might want to go through and rewatch some of your previous videos. It's obvious that you've been beaten down a bit and the difference in how articulate, and confident in your reads, plays, and thought process in contrast to previous videos is like night and day. I think this video illustrates really well how a bad run can mess with your confidence, question what you're doing, and make you hesitant and scared. I've noticed this in my own game too.

I liked this video. Considering the situation (first time live recording) I think you explained your thoughts fairly good. You should do some other live videos in the future for sure.

you might want to watch the timing in some spots....42 minutes in with the TT oop on the k high flop table 2 your timing on the c/c flop looked very planned enoughh that i thought your hand seemed face up....easy barrel on any turn for him if hes paying attention

Thanks for doing something new I appreciate your effort i thought you got much better at the discussion as the video went on. For me i like your other style videos b/c it helps me to think more deeply about the situations and what i would do in those spots. Some of the hands went by very quickly for me but i liked the video

not betting turn with kk on JJxx board was bad. Firstly opponent more often has a pair than a J here and will call with a lot of them. Secondly by checking you let oppo value bet/bluff/ check down more optimally. Folding ak on q77 board is weak - its pretty hard for your oppo to hit this flop - even when called you prob have outs.

I like the video - and i feel what your going through. Heres what ive noticed. you are playing too many hands oop calling too much in SB with marginal hands. The amount of times you dont bet because of fear of getting raised means you are missing a lot of value eg with JJ, KK hands. You seem to be playing with a fearful/negative attitude. You are playing too passive - not raising with KK when donked into is really bad - most of time reg raises here with air.

sup Niman first thing I noticed you got into a lots of pots OOP !! I think especially when things are going bad you need to avoid playing OOP when you dont need to! look back this vid and many times you were OOP and did not really mention it, its really hard to play OOP as we all know :) also here's what I would suggest for you..make another video with Giggy..you seemed to have a lot of fun in that previous series and I think both of you get along nicely..also you both had nice stories!

I had to stop watching this half way in for fear of messing up my own game. seems like you need to take a long break from poker and come back with your head straight. you played terribly, was clearly out of focus and constantly outthinking yourself.

I didn't watch your videos for a longer time but the first thing i noticed is that you did 3bet much less than i was used to. Instead you called hands like K6s OOP and worse Hands IP.In former videos you always said that you should use hands for 3betting that are slightly worse than your calling range. Now its seems like you opened up your calling range and have a tight 3bet range.I saw several spots which you didn't take.Just a view from Germany

I can say for sure that at low stakes, the dynamic on dry A high flops is currently such that cbets will rarely fold any pair on the flop, and very often people intend to call at least two bets with something like TT or QQ. By the same token, even some uncreative regulars have learned to bet twice for value with worse than a pair of aces if they suspect the above to be true. I imagine this must be partly the case at midstakes, not that it would necessarily change the play in either hand...

One more thing, and with a grain of salt since I've never played above 1/2: The first one, you float a dry A high flop with a backdoor nut flush draw, then fold to another barrel on the turn, reasoning that he would assume you often have an A after the flop action and wouldn't likely value bet worse. Later on, you make a cbet with an underpair on another dryish a high flop and decide not to second barrel your turned gutshot, this time reasoning that your opponent has an A too often...

I have personally had to work pretty hard to maintain an attitude conductive to good play. I used to try to suppress all my emotional outbursts when I was playing, which certainly helped some to keep me calm. Currently my approach is different in that I allow myself certain of these reactions, for two reasons. 1. It helps remind me that poker should still be fun and exhilarating whether I'm winning or not. 2. It gives me an external and more objective way of gauging my own mental state.

Aptly, it seems to me you showed a lot of classic signs of actual tilt in the video, though this could be mostly due to not being comfortable talking/playing, and of course I have no idea what your normal temperament is during a session. Some things I noticed were: drumming your fingers a lot, sounds of disgust when you hit a bad card, and commenting when the board came good for a hand you'd already mucked.

Ok, really interesting video. First of all, I do like the format. All things considered, I think you did a pretty good job keeping up with the action, and you seemed to be improving at this throughout the vid. I personally thought the poker content alone was good enough to merit watching; I always enjoy hearing your analysis, and I think you have a lot of unique insights to offer. But the way this illuminates what's been going on in your game/life is possibly even more interesting.

well first time i do post a comment here and i wanna say that i find myself in you there playing also same limits as you at stars and fulltilt. sometimes same kind of lacking with self confidence after a loosing period but in the end it is always the same outcame :-) Well i do tend to play the q8s differently and 4 bet flop cause this guy lost 2 min before almost 400 BB pot and for that reason i am gonna play for stacks vs his range gl and nice video

Nice vid. I think u could play tighter at downswings or bad momentum? Little more tighter postflop too and more straightforward. I mean less floating and for example pre push with AKs when faced 3bet. It´s a good idea to make it easy for yourself when things are not going well?
