Over Christmas I went back to Iowa to see my family for two weeks. I only get home once or twice a year so I like to take a long trip when I do go (it’s not like I’m that busy now anyway). It was great to hang out with my parents and brother and see some other people. I even played farmer for a few hours and helped my Dad vaccinate some cattle.
Over the weekend my wife and I went to New York City for two days. We wanted to take advantage of the city before we left the area. We went to the Central Park Zoo, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Empire State Building, Museum of Modern Art and the musical comedy Avenue Q. Everything was fun and interesting and I would highly recommend seeing Avenue Q if you get the opportunity. It was very entertaining. Here I am trying to make friends with an alpaca at the zoo.
We are still waiting for the lawyers to figure out the best way to get my wife’s work permit. A little frustrating but we’re still trying to enjoy life and not worry about it too much.
