So I didn't get to play any poker today, my internet was real spotty and i didnt want to risk tilting myself so whatever, i just took the day off. I have been railing a decent amount of the HU matches going on, and i have to say, i'm VERY impressed with Ivey. I just have no idea how the guy does it. It seems like he's just perfectly balanced in terms of his betting frequencies. He's really controling the pace of the match, and anytime isildur1 has tried something crazy, Ivey's picked it off. Not saying he hasnt been bluffed at all, but it seems like hes dictating the match, something Durrr has really struggled to do. I feel like durrr is getting "out-durrred" if you will, he's the one whos used to putting people to these really tough decisions, and making all the crazy overbets, but in this match i feel like he's the one whos doing all the guesswork. Something that Ivey is doing which i feel is really smart is just not value betting nearly as thin as durrr is. It really forces Isildur1 to tone down his bluff shoving, because he knows that Ivey's value bet range is so tight. Also if you notice that that the people Isildur1 has struggled with the most are the live pros, Ivey, PA, and Benyamine. I think the main reason for this is that live pros just have a way different approach to the game, and they're used to playing against players who are way more aggressive than they are. I could be completely wrong, (LarsLuzak wrote in his blog that he thinks Ivey is the most aggro person he's ever played), but yeah i think that Ivey and PA will continue to get the best of Isildur1, and durrr is going to continue to struggle unless he makes some changes. It's like the old sports saying, "Teams that press, don't like to be pressed" (You can replace press w/ blitz or whatever fits the sports metaphor you're trying to use) Durrr doesn't like to be durrred it seems.
