June Results
Post Date: 30 Jun, 2010

Hey guys,

Today, I am going into NYC for drinks so my month is ending 1 day early. The end of the month was very swingy (all seshes were at least +/- 5 buyins). I will post a graph at the end of this. I was pleased with the month overall however; I was able to obtain all my goals I set out for. I did feel towards the end of the month I started to lose my focus, not play well, in combination of running bad. Hence, the almost 20 buyin downswing. But it turned out well in the end, can't really complain.

For July, it will be a busy month for me but I would like to put in even more volume. This month I got to move out of my apartment in Syracuse, I am going down the shore for a couple days, will probably spend a day or two in Atlantic City at the Borgata, so if you are around AC Tuesday through Thursday let me know. Also, I got to get ready for Vegas at the beginning of August, so amped for that. Despite all this my goal for July will be at least 100 hours of grinding for the month, but no more than 130. That should be more than ample.

Funny story from last weekend, I was at a graduation party and my friend's father was there and he is also a Syracuse alum. At this party there was an ice luge (spelling?) and suggested to him that the two of us do it. He declined but was willing to pour the luge for me. He clearly did not have any experience doing this before, or rather pouring this before. He started to pour and did not stop pouring, of course with the encouragement of my bastard friends. I had to yell at him to stop pouring and a decent amount of liquor did hit the ground, I know I am wasteful, but I still had a decent amount of shots from that. Thanks! It was a great night, got a little sloppy though.

I have been watching just about every game of the World Cup. Prior to the World in 2006, I never watched soccer, but thanks to some friends I got very into it. I was absolutely crushed when the US let up 2 soft goals against Ghana. When we are the favorites we suck, but when we are the underdogs we play well, go figure? I am so amped for Argentina vs Germany and Brazil vs Netherlands. I got Argentina beating Germany, but should be a great game, and I got a shocking upset Netherlands beating Brazil, (sidenote: I have the Netherlands winning it all) GO ORANGE POWER!!...

At 12:01am the NBA BIGGEST FREE AGENCY SUMMER BEGINS!  I pray the Nets are able to use their cap space and get some good players to come to NJ/ BK. Please LEBRON! Here is a funny link I saw today, Nets put an enormous billboard near MSG to lure the big free agents... here is the link (http://sports.espn.go.com/new-york/nba/news/story?id=5341391).

That is all I have for now, let me know if anyone is going to be in Atlantic City next, let me leave you with my graph of the month, and see you guys in July!

Back on my grind
Post Date: 21 Jun, 2010

Hey

So as I said in my previous blog, FTP was kind enough to give a little bonus to clear. I decided to take this opportunity to reintroduce myself to the world of online poker. I have put in a ton of hours in this month, and already surpassed the most hands played in a single month of poker playing. Told you I was back on my grind! I have been mostly playing RUSHPOKER, I love rush poker, 4 tabling = 1,000 hands/hr... I get excited just thinking about it. Anyways results oriented thinking, things have been going great until this weekend, been getting absolutely crushed! Approx -12 buyin downswing :( ugg... Im am going to post a graph to hopefully unjinx myself and get back to my winning ways.

In other news, I am heading home on Wednesday for my brother's graduation, a friends graduation party, just a week to chill. Hope everything is going great for everyone, talk to ya soon.

From Way Back When

Hey all,

I was bored and going through my old blogs and I realized that I promised a pic of of the Syracuse Nova game. This was the game that the Carrier Dome sold out 2 weeks prior to gameday and had an oncampus attendance record of 34,616! Oh yeah Cuse won 95-77 to clinch the BE regular season title. It was sweet....

This is a nice picture of the game, but I wished it showed how far the top level goes. People are sitting at the opposite endzone, it was unreal.

That is all I have for now, I am going to start my summer grind in a couple days. FTP gave me a bonus so got to clear it, time to get back on my grind!

Post-Graduation
Post Date: 26 May, 2010

So after walking at graduation it was time to get down to business. My plans were to stay in Syracuse until Tuesday then drive down to Lafayette College and spend the night with a couple of friends. It was Lafayette's senior week and after just completing my own senior week, I figured I would go down and give it a go. Also, on Wednesday we would be heading to the Borgata in Atlantic City for a night of poker and clubbing.

The drive to Lafayette was a little longer than expected, I was driving between 80-85 mph and it still took about 3 hrs+, which was lame. Tuesday, was pretty much what I was expecting, an absolute shit show. It was good seeing everyone again and had a solid time (I met a lot of my friend's college friends on previous ski trips) On Wednesday morning we awoke and despite moving very slowly were able to get on the road and head down to AC. There were 5 guys but I got passenger seat for the ride down so it was no biggy for me. We were meeting a friend of mine who is a "live pro" down at the Borgata and plays 5-10 and throws in an occasional tourney to the mix. He has a black card there and basically got everything taken care of for us. I would be staying in his room for the trip.

After getting to our rooms and taking a quick shower, it was down to the pokerroom to get my grind on. I was playing 1-2 nl, WHEEEE! When I sat down the person to my left had ~1500$ stack, oh joy! I decided to stay anyways see how the table was and, maybe I could take some of those chips away from the monster stack. After winning a few hands, I do what I always do in live games, go STONE COLD CARD DEAD. I chip down to approx 140$, when to my delight, they open another 1-2 table right in front of me, I decide that I had enough of this table and move. After I move, I do not win a pot. I go busto on KJ on a KQ3 flop 2 spades. I bet the flop get 2 callers. Turn is Jd. It goes check, bet, I shove like 70 on top of his 25$ bet. Checker thinks 4ever then folds after time is called. Better calls, and tables Ts9s... river bricks and I am off to dinner -200.

After dinner we decide to head over to Harrah's Pool After Dark where we decide to get bottle service and a cabana. For those who do not know the Pool is Harrah's indoor pool that at night they convert into a night club. According to my friend it is the place to be on a Wednesday night. We ended up getting 2 bottles, nothing crazy, and had a very good time. BTW we had by far the hottest waitress in the place, oh damn was she hot. This was my first time ever getting bottle service so it was pretty cool in my eyes. Funny story came with paying for the bill though.

One of my friend's friend went off into the casino to degen it up for a bit and was not around to pay the tab, we will call him Jake. My friend, the live pro, had to cover his portion of the bill. My friend who I came down with made it clear to Jake not to lose all his money at the casino as it is late, he was drunk, and he does not know the live pro, and needs to pay him his money back. I end up passing out around 5am that morni
